Year of completion 2015
Total built area 4 000 sq.m

Muzeiko is a unique project for the region of Southeast Europe. The project envisages a complete reconstruction and completion of an abandoned existing building and its transformation into a modern scientific and educational children's center in Sofia. The project was developed in partnership with Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership Team, New York (LHSA + DP), based on an international competition won by LHSA + DP. Muzeiko is funded by the America for Bulgaria Foundation and is currently the largest non-governmental project in the field of education and culture in Bulgaria.

Muzeiko has several thematic exhibitions related to culture, history, ecology, science and technology.

The exhibits include a variety of interactive facilities suitable for children of different ages and their parents. Some of these facilities are located outdoors. An interesting part of the project are the so-called small mountains - three complex volumes lined with three different materials: wood, textiles and ceramics, recreating the famous traditional Bulgarian crafts - woodcarving, embroidery and painted ceramics.

The building is designed and certified in accordance with the LEED GOLD standard and includes a number of "green" technologies for energy production and storage.
